Beck Hansen (born Bek David Campbell, July 8, 1970) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known by the stage name Beck. The Stone Roses were an influential alternative rock band which formed in Manchester, England in 1984. For most of their career, the band consisted of Ian Brown (vocals), John Squire (guitar), Gary “Mani” Mounfield (bass) and Alan “Reni” Wren (drums).

Meshing ’60s-styled guitar pop with an understated ’80s dance beat, the band defined the British guitar pop scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s. After their eponymous 1989 debut album became a British sensation, countless other groups in the same vein became popular, including The Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets, and Happy Mondays. However, the band was never able to capitalize on the promise of their first album, waiting five years before they released their second record and slowly disintegrating in the year and half after its release.

The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley, West Sussex in 1976. The band has experienced several lineup changes, with frontman, vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter Robert Smith being the only constant member.

The Cure first began releasing music in the late 1970s with their debut album Three Imaginary Boys (1979); this, along with several early singles, placed the band as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre. Kaiser Chiefs are an English indie rock band from Leeds who formed in 1997. They were named after the South African football club Kaizer Chiefs, a team which former Leeds United defender Lucas Radebe played for.

The group's debut album, Employment, was released in 2005. It was primarily inspired by new wave and punk rock music of late 1970s, and enjoyed international success with sales of over three million. In 2005, the album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. Kaiser Chiefs' second album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob (2007), yielded "Ruby", a number one single in the United Kingdom. They released their third album, Off with Their Heads, in October 2008.

The Kooks are an English indie rock band, formed in Brighton in 2004. The band currently consists of four members; Luke Pritchard, Hugh Harris, Paul Garred and Peter Denton. They have released two studio albums; their 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and their 2008 follow up Konk reached number one.

The Kooks formed at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where they were all students. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Luke Pritchard, got bassist Max Rafferty involved in a college project, which formed the base of the band.

The Beatles are considered to have two phases:

The First - 1962-1966 - is more about young Rock N' Roll and produced big hits worldwide like "A Hard Day's Night" or "She Love You". In this phase, the beatlemania exploded specially in UK.

The Second - 1967-1970 - is more about an adult and introspective pop/rock sound. Their sound grows from "Revolver" to "Magical Mystery Tour". Their producer Brian Epstein had just died and Paul McCartney took the leadership of the band. He wanted to do something different and this was the final result. Brian Epstein's death was one of the reasons to the end of The Beatles.

The members of this band coincide with Soundgarden's members. Also, the vocalist of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, formed a band, Temple Of The Dog, with the members of Pearl Jam to remember a friend of them. The band's debut album, Ten, released in 1991 was certified thirteen times platinum in the United States and remains Pearl Jam's most successful album. In 2009, Pearl Jam re-released Ten in a Legacy Edition. They're one of the best bands live.
